Your browsing belongs to you. Undersheet does not send us your browsing history, inspected pages or app usage. We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or automatic AI requests in the app or on this website. You do not need an Undersheet account.
Who we are
This policy covers the Undersheet Mac app and undersheet.app. Undersheet is published by Withers XYZ Pty Ltd, trading as Withers Co., an Australian company, and made by Josh Withers. Contact us at josh@withers.co about privacy.
What stays on your Mac
Website extraction and analysis happen on your Mac. Captured pages and navigation history stay in memory. Bookmarks and reading preferences are stored locally; an optional Google PageSpeed API key is stored in your Mac’s Keychain. We do not receive any of these through an Undersheet backend.
Files you export and text or prompts you copy may contain website content and URLs. You control where you save or share them. Undersheet does not automatically upload them to us or to an AI service. Any device backup or other service you choose to use is governed by that service’s privacy practices.
Websites you inspect
Inspecting a URL makes requests to that website and its robots.txt file. Image thumbnails may make requests to the image hosts named in a page. Those services receive the requested URL and your IP address, and may keep their own logs.
JavaScript starts on for websites in the current app. Under the stylesheet preserves the original HTML, then captures the rendered document in a temporary WebKit session. The website’s scripts, network requests and analytics may run. You can turn JavaScript off or choose Original HTML to inspect the response alone. Safari cookies are not imported, and local HTML files never run scripts. This policy covers Undersheet, not the data practices of the websites you visit.
Optional Google PageSpeed checks
A Lighthouse check runs only when you request it. It sends the selected URL, including its path and query, to Google PageSpeed Insights. Reader HTML, cookies and request headers are not uploaded. If you supply an API key, it is sent only to Google. Google handles those requests under its privacy policy. Avoid submitting a URL containing private information unless you intend to share that URL with Google.
This website and downloads
We do not run visitor analytics, advertising pixels, session recording or tracking cookies on undersheet.app. Stored Cloudflare Worker request logs are disabled.
Cloudflare hosts and protects this website and serves the app download. Delivering those requests necessarily involves technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and network data. Cloudflare may process and retain this information for delivery, security and operating its network, and may make security information available to us. This is separate from app or visitor analytics.
Cloudflare operates internationally, including in the United States and the European Economic Area, so technical request information may be processed outside Australia. Its privacy policy explains its handling, locations and retention practices. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include, such as your name or a support attachment. We use that information to answer you, resolve your request and meet any legal obligations. Please send only what is needed; you can use a pseudonym where practical.
We do not sell personal information or use support messages for advertising or AI training. Correspondence is handled through our email service and kept only as long as reasonably needed for the request and any legal recordkeeping, then deleted or de-identified. We may disclose relevant information to a service provider helping us handle the request, or where required or authorised by law. We take reasonable steps to protect information we hold.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, or make a privacy complaint by emailing josh@withers.co. We have no app browsing history or usage profile to retrieve. If your request relates to correspondence you sent us, we may need enough information to identify that correspondence and safely respond.
We aim to respond within 30 days. If we cannot resolve a privacy complaint, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where the matter falls within its jurisdiction. Any rights that apply under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles remain available to you.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its date if our practices change. Any future feature that changes how personal information is handled will be explained before you use it, with consent obtained where required by law.
